Session Description:
In this session, author Eric Coryell will challenge your assumptions around both accountability and teams. He will make a case that the notion of “holding someone accountable” is actually a misnomer and that accountability is usually managed by the leader of a team. It is possible, however, to get a team to become accountable to the desired results and to each other. This presentation will focus on how to get any group of individuals to actually function like a team and then ultimately how to get to become an accountable team. Central to this is the team’s ability to deal with their real issues together in a healthy and constructive way. This is opposite the behavior of most teams where the real issues are either ignored or avoided, addressed behind each other’s back, or ultimately given to the leader to solve.
